Courses offered by SCM are often
tailored to fit the needs of the company for which the course is being given. Basic
training in Petrel (how to
punch the buttons) is important, however, when students return to the office
after a buttons-only school they seldom know how to begin or plan a project
using Petrel. SCM's schools focus on the use of mini-projects to introduce the
student to standard Petrel workflows and how to plan and solve real-world problems
using Petrel.
Instructors
SCM's instructors have 15 to 20+
years of oil industry experience in mapping and geocellular modeling. They regularly
use Petrel on consulting projects doing just what the students they train will
be doing when they return to their offices. Often these instructors are hired
to assist the students as mentors on the student's first projects.
