| Duration: |
Three-Five (3-5) days |
| Class Type: |
Short lectures with many exercises on the computer |
| Who is qualified: |
Inexperienced FMP or experienced Z-MAP Plus users (an intro Z-MAP Plus course and two months of hands-on Z-MAP Plus in the last year) - must also have a strong geologic or geophysics background |
| Who should attend: |
Geologists and geophysicists who need to build geologically and geometrically 3D structural and stratigraphic frameworks. |
| What will they learn: |
- To prepare fault data for input to FMP
- To build fault surface grids, define fault relationships, intersect fault surfaces, and force faults to fade out where vertical separation goes to zero
- To create a geometrically correct set of fault traces and a structure grid from an initial structure grid
- To generate geometrically correct fault traces and structure grids by isochore migration of existing structure grids
- To generate properly faulted isochores
- To generate by-block volumetrics
